DIOR HAUTE COUTURE SHOW

I was really blown away by the look at Dior’s Haute Couture show in Paris last week. Pat Mcgrath the legendary make up artist who created the looks really is a visionary and is a bit of a rock star in the beauty world. Other beauty journalists like me, get a bit silly and overexcited by her work and her down to earth personality. I love the drama, romanticism and historical referencing in the look. If you want to give a nod to the look, reach for Diorskin Nude Foundation in Ivory or if you have darker skin think matte and powdered, with plenty of black liquid liner and on the lips Rouge Dior Replenishing Lipcolour in Red Premiere or Celebrity Red. Bravo Madame McGrath and Monsieur Galliano!

  1. I do love the look and I have always been a fan of red lipstick and red nail polish since I was a litte girl after seeing it on 'a woman of questionable virtue' frankly I thought she looked 'foxy'(there I just gave my age away)compared to the frumpy respectable women. Sorry I regressed...I learnt that after a 'certain' age women wearing red lipstick tend to 'age' women...Ateh can you please give me advice on this? Or wearing a veil with the hat hide the wrinkles and make one mysterious and sexy.
    Pray tell!

  2. Thanks for the question and any woman of any age can wear red lipstick. Why older women tend to back away is because it can draw attention to wrinkles around the mouth and red lipstick can tend to feather on older, thinner lips. However, make sure to use a red liner to get a precise line and if you don't feel like wearing a full on in your face pillar box red, try wearing your red as a stain by blotting the lips. Finally, have fun, be proud and go for it and there is definitely no need for a veil unless it's part of a fierce fashion look!
